IMAXUERO

IMAXUERO

I was given a free ticket to the IMAX movie “sacred earth” last week. It was basically just a bunch of helicopter shots of the amazon and Africa. I drove for 25 minutes and waited in line for another 30 to see a movie that ended up being only 40 minutes long. I had never been to an IMAX theater before and I’m not that impressed. The screen is a big square, which sounds like a good idea…until you realize that the “widescreen” format was created for a good reason…because that is how our vision works. The screen basically went from the floor to the 6 story high ceiling, which is cool, but they need to have the screen wrap around to the edges of our peripheral view as well for the effect (of being “in” the movie) to really work.

Mom came up yesterday and we went to “El Vaquero.” Best Mexican restaurant (in the northeast) that I know of.

akron

Well, didn’t make it Akron last Saturday. Nobody wanted to go with me, so I figured I’d better stay home than end up in a ditch alongside the highway at 3am. Maybe I’ll check out that Lambo dealership in Marysville this weekend.

do the mazda rock

Did anyone else notice the media blitz for the “The Rock” and that new movie? Did anyone else notice that “The Rock” has been getting bad reviews? Did anyone else notice that the new commercials for said movie play up the fact that “Johnny Knoxville” plays his sidekick?
In other news:

I got my badges today and a new steering wheel. Badges look slick, car feels official now. MazdaDirect has free cappuccino in three flavors…I’ll have to stop by there more often.
