As I watched this I felt like I was watching a clip from within a movie about an “Orwellian” future.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The good guy = clean cut nerdy goody-two shoes<\/p>\n

The bad guy (girl)\u00a0= tattooed jewish b-grade celebrity<\/p>\n

I love how they left in her comment about the conservatives not being conservative for the last 20 years.\u00a0 They know their viewers are so brainwashed they won’t even bother to ask themselves if she has a point.\u00a0 Where this really takes on freakish Orwellian trappings is when Clark Kent imagines himself with round lens glasses and a big white beard and puts Garofalo on the couch, wondering why she’s “so unhappy.”\u00a0\u00a0 Clark, who we know never lies, asserts that he didn’t see any racist\/offensive signs at any of the rallies, as if this was nonexistent.\u00a0 Obviously Fox News just reports the facts…\u00a0 The meticulously researched facts…<\/p>\n

If taken on face value I would think a rational intelligent person would look at this whole segment (the ambush interview and subsequent discussion) as entirely bizarre.<\/p>\n

For one thing, why is the issue of free speech completely ignored.\u00a0 While not the entire mob, the protesters that made racist and\/or offensive signs had every RIGHT to do it.\u00a0 Just as Garofalo had every RIGHT to speak her mind on TV or in front of Starbucks or even in her stand-up routine.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And her point about “the last eight years” isn’t touched either.\u00a0 If deficit spending is so outrageous where were you when Bush enlarged it to 700 Billion?\u00a0 What, a Billion isn’t a lot of money?\u00a0\u00a0 That is like saying a dictator killing 700 people is okay, but 1,800 …woah, we gotta protest now!\u00a0<\/p>\n

We are living in bizarro world when in the middle of a recession\/depression (depends on who you ask and how they’re measuring it) and a war both started under the last president people are “scared” of what will happen with a new one.\u00a0 What could possibly happen?<\/p>\n

A terrorist attack?\u00a0 …already happened under Big Tex’s watch<\/p>\n

A deficit\u00a0 …already happened under Big Tex’s watch<\/p>\n

Thousands of Americans dying in a war for oil?\u00a0 ……already happened under Big Tex’s watch<\/p>\n

Enlargement of government power AND secrecy at the same time?\u00a0\u00a0 …already happened under Big Tex’s watch<\/p>\n

Government officials endorsing torture?\u00a0 …already happened under Big Tex’s watch<\/p>\n

EPA standards relaxed?\u00a0 …already happened under Big Tex’s watch<\/p>\n

Horrendous management of a devastating natural disaster?\u00a0 …already happened under Big Tex’s watch (“good job, Brownie!”)<\/p>\n

WHAT THE F’ ARE YOU SCARED OF?<\/strong><\/p>\n
