Sunday morning we ate breakfast (this time actually before noon) at Top Pot<\/a>.\u00a0 Byron was quite embarrassed by my insistence on dipping my doughnuts in milk until soggy.\u00a0 We sat outside and my dripping milk made an embarrassing (albeit delicious) mess.\u00a0 Next we took a bus to an area closer to UW and walked down the wooded road to the Japanese garden<\/a>.\u00a0 In the pecking order this garden would be beneath the two in Los Angeles, but they let us feed the koi – which I don’t believe we can do back home.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We came on the perfect day – the only day on my trip to witness direct sunlight.\u00a0 It was fortuitous because the sunlight brought all the turtles out onto the rocks.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We bussed back to the apartment to change into shorts before heading to the market.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On the way I saw this hilarious sign assuring anyone who can’t read English that they’ll have lots of fun at the slip-n’-slide!<\/p>\n

On the way we passed by Westlake and saw an impromptu dance party.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And the pig truck….<\/p>\n

At the market we bought fresh salmon, halibut, crab, vegetables, sauces and beer.\u00a0 90 minutes later we were airing out our tired feet while gorging on seafood and watching City of Lost Children (which I have mixed feelings about).\u00a0 I actually ate so much I made myself sick.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We finished off the night with a trip to Byron’s favorite coffeeshop, Bauhaus, so he could do some freelance and I could sketch.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
