Monday I was on my own.\u00a0 Byron forgot some stuff so I met him for coffee by his office across the street from the Farmer’s Market.\u00a0 This was actually fortuitous as it gave me a chance to sample the “best mac and cheese” from Beecher’s<\/a>\u00a0that really was quite delicious.\u00a0 Beechers makes their own cheese right in front of you:<\/p>\n

Afterwards I took the monorail to the experience music museum<\/a>.\u00a0 The museum shares space with the sci-fi musuem.\u00a0 Both were a little underwhelming, but the $12 (student) admission\u00a0covered both.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The scifi museum had the miniature of the tree of life from The Fountain<\/a>, which I was enamored with but seemed to confuse everyone else.<\/p>\n

I still had about four hours before I’d have to meet Byron for dinner so I checked out the pacific science center…which I didn’t realize was for children.\u00a0 The insect exhibits were cool and the little butterfly room was relaxing (although would have been infinitely more without hearing “britney, don’t touch thayt!” every five seconds).\u00a0<\/p>\n

An Axolotl<\/a>.\u00a0 I want one.<\/p>\n

I bought a ticket to the planetarium and was sorely disappointed, it cost more than the Griffith park planetarium but was basically an antique light box with a kiddie astronomy quiz.\u00a0 I saw another disgruntled adult sneak out the exit about 5 minutes into it.\u00a0 I was on the other side of the room so I was trapped.<\/p>\n

Outside the museum I found some flowers with lots of bees:<\/p>\n

I took the monorail back to downtown and headed down to the market to meet Byron after he got off of work.\u00a0 We were going to meet at Beecher’s, but I decided to walk across the street to the bathroom in the farmer’s market.\u00a0 As I crossed I walked past a guy with his wife and kids.\u00a0 Our eyes met and I thought he looked familiar.\u00a0 And then I thought “that guy looks like Tobey Maguire<\/a>“…\u00a0 he kept looking at me, looking kind of irritated which I later realized (I’m assuming)\u00a0was because I had my camera in my hand and he was worried I was going to take a picture.\u00a0 After I walked by the nearby teenage girls realized the same thing and started forming a circle.\u00a0 At that point I stepped back and took a quick blurry photo (since everyone else was at that point).\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

When Byron and I got home later we looked him up and discovered he is actually in Seattle right now shooting an independent film.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Later we went to Queen Anne with Byron’s friend and then got ice cream at a custard shop with a “school house” theme.<\/p>\n
