{"id":2275,"date":"2012-04-02T06:42:03","date_gmt":"2012-04-02T14:42:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.andrewlorenzlong.com\/?p=2275"},"modified":"2012-04-02T10:01:47","modified_gmt":"2012-04-02T18:01:47","slug":"birthday-food","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.andrewlorenzlong.com\/?p=2275","title":{"rendered":"birthday food"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sadly, this weekend, Sam&#8217;s month of birthday cooking came to a close. \u00a0On Friday Sam gave me a gift inside a custom cut paper card. \u00a0 Breakfast on Saturday morning consisted of cheese omelets and toast.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/-QLFzFiYv17w\/T3kzziO7F9I\/AAAAAAAAGsk\/X2GXfcVNKKI\/s902\/DSC07320.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"902\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After breakfast we headed to Marina Del Rey for my secret birthday gift. \u00a0It turns out Sam had booked us a tandem parasailing ride. \u00a0Unfortunately, when we finally went out on the boat the weather took a turn for the worse. \u00a0It was cold and rainy and the &#8220;homebase&#8221; forced the boat to turn around and offer us a rain check after three other couples in line before us had nearly froze to death up high in the rainclouds.<\/p>\n<p>It actually was good that it happened, as the ambient temperature of the air over the water will be much warmer by our new date in May and we&#8217;ll have a much better view of the shore, etc.<\/p>\n<p>After coming home and warming up Sam cooked a dinner of salad, lobster, potatoes au-gratin and a bottle of Moscato. \u00a0 Of course, following the meal, Sam had one of my favorite deserts available; angelfood cake covered in melted berry sauce and ice cream.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/-TlDvnCIpKi4\/T3kzx4oWuCI\/AAAAAAAAGsU\/b4yX1MiuPd4\/s600\/DSC07321.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/-SyMeXomcpMg\/T3kzya5kI4I\/AAAAAAAAGsc\/47uT-qlaks8\/s600\/DSC07324.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The next morning Sam used the lone leftover potato to make hash browns. \u00a0She made another cheese omelet, but this time secretly stuffed it with onions and peppers.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/-meoWtmI4l0w\/T3kz42AMYvI\/AAAAAAAAGss\/BS0OR_PF4rs\/s902\/DSC07330.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"902\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For dinner on Sunday she mixed the leftover salad,\u00a0potatoes\u00a0and moscato with steamed crab legs.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/-3cD6HmYv6xc\/T3kz6SwqECI\/AAAAAAAAGs8\/lqdGvzwcWSY\/s902\/DSC07332.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"902\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/-kO711mVoSAk\/T3kz5WWBXJI\/AAAAAAAAGs0\/ZKsA6ClBjeY\/s600\/DSC07333.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I feel very lucky to be with a\u00a0culinary masterful\u00a0woman that is so continually generous to my stomach!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sadly, this weekend, Sam&#8217;s month of birthday cooking came to a close. \u00a0On Friday Sam gave me a gift inside a custom cut paper card. \u00a0 Breakfast on Saturday morning consisted of cheese omelets and toast.
