<\/a>I haven’t posted much in the last month, but a lot has been going on. \u00a0Our garden has been a hive of activity. \u00a0We’ve added a lot of plants, arranged stepping stones, etc. over the last month. \u00a0All in preparation for my parents’ visit for thanksgiving. \u00a0One day while looking at the garden we spotted a deer on the hill in front of our patio maybe thirty feet away.<\/p>\n

In the binary world, I’ve been working away at a Flickr account<\/a>. \u00a0I think this will most\u00a0accurately\u00a0represent what I’m trying to do with photography. \u00a0There are over 2,000 photos on there now. \u00a0Some you’ve seen on my blog, G+ or facebook before, but you’ve never seen them actually looking decent without all the native compression that G+ and Facebook photo galleries bring to the table. \u00a0 \u00a0Flickr “pro” accounts are pretty cheap – so I bellied up and then uploaded everything at a resolution of at least 1080 pixels high, so it would essentially be “HD” if you were browsing on an internet enabled newer TV. \u00a0I figured that’s probably the largest anyone would ever blow these up to browse through. \u00a0Obviously I could create much larger files if I have to – so if you (mom) want any photo, please contact me for the high res version. \u00a0Speaking of mom; \u00a0I’m trying to tag all the photos that contain my parents with “parents” and\/or “mom” and “dad” – so mom\/dad if you’re reading this, you can find a bunch of photos of yourself by clicking on those keywords on my account.<\/p>\n

Why mention this Flickr transition? \u00a0Well, it actually was a lot of work that took at least 3 weeks to complete. \u00a0I went back and looked at EVERY photo I’ve ever taken with a digital camera (and some scans of old 35mm shots from college) to see if there was anything I could do to punch up some older (and newer) shots with the techniques I’ve learned using CameraRAW for the past year and a half. \u00a0I’ll give you some examples of some old shots you may have seen before, but not to their full potential (click to see larger version on Flickr site):<\/p>\n
