{"id":2579,"date":"2013-09-24T20:02:09","date_gmt":"2013-09-25T04:02:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.andrewlorenzlong.com\/?p=2579"},"modified":"2013-09-29T21:24:09","modified_gmt":"2013-09-30T05:24:09","slug":"foxy-wedding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.andrewlorenzlong.com\/?p=2579","title":{"rendered":"Foxy wedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(As always, \u00a0higher res versions of my photos can be found\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/andrewlong\/sets\/72157636035572584\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5522\/10013581316_36eb0fb21a.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday Sam and I packed our bags and walked to the San Francisco Civic Center BART stop. \u00a0BART took us to SFO and from there it was on to Seattle. \u00a0That night all but one of B&#8217;s groomsmen arrived and we (and Sam and another groomsman&#8217;s wife) were set to work on wedding tasks.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7344\/10013670203_3244992822.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3800\/10013665603_e13036968e.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7361\/10013576905_1bae80640c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There was still a lot of work to be done and so over the next three days we did everything from painting signs to filling coffee bag favors to packing books to making bunting, etc. I never knew what bunting was until now. \u00a0Of course all this was the lead up to the actual wedding on Saturday, at Admiralty Head Lighthouse.<\/p>\n<p>Byron and Christine&#8217;s house was filled with wedding stuff when we arrived, so we were grateful they were able to make room for us to sleep!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7310\/10013556405_e40e29d328.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"yui_3_11_0_3_1380516505704_429\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5495\/10013585326_44a0d3cc5d.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Thursday morning Byron and Christine had errands to run and the crafting was put off until the afternoon. \u00a0Sam and I hitched a ride with Christine down to the Pike&#8217;s Market so we could enjoy some of our favorite Seattle food &#8211; Beacher&#8217;s Mac&amp;Cheese and the Chowder\/sandwiches at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pikeplacechowder.com\/#\" target=\"_blank\">Pike Place Chowder<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5327\/10013648673_ddec82014c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The wedding prep was mostly crowdsourced (the wedding part and select friends), so we were making final prep right up until the music was cued. \u00a0None of the official photos have been released yet, and I was in the ceremony so I couldn&#8217;t take many of my own, but I do have some location and process shots that I was able to snap at certain points. Sam took several photos too.<\/p>\n<p>After we took a cab back to the house the crafting began.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.staticflickr.com\/2846\/10013516404_807f91689a.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7313\/10013568385_9a12f54c9a.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.staticflickr.com\/2851\/10013524964_aa97bde101.jpg\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5456\/10013587646_299d92c585.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5482\/10013678323_03b1888715.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7416\/10013585965_c43b9ff04f.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3821\/10013537244_061737a8dc.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5472\/10013672453_77aa9bd2df.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sam(&#8216;s camera) took this one of us at dinner Thursday night with all the groomsmen.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uw xO\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/-MyNnem6Fl7Q\/Ukjlz6ygcFI\/AAAAAAAAKqo\/TKgOvgMdyMk\/w600-h450-no\/P1050168.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The next morning we all drove up early to Whidbey Island. \u00a0Sam and I were staying at the Crocket B&amp;B with the bride and groom (and several bridesmaids).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7432\/10013589515_b4af2da0be.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We gathered in the dining room for breakfast at the B&amp;B, B&amp;C were already emotional over what was about to happen. \u00a0The tears (of joy!) would not stop for the next 48 hours.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7446\/10013613286_2d27dd085f.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The setting was extremely rustic. \u00a0There were majestic and beautiful storm clouds billowing overhead the entire weekend. \u00a0I very very rarely got an opportunity to go off and shoot any of the landscape, a pain that I&#8217;m sure Byron felt too (we both have NEX&#8217;s, if you didn&#8217;t know).<\/p>\n<p>This was shot right outside the B&amp;B next to the barn where the reception would be:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3832\/10013547044_d32c8e6076.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.staticflickr.com\/2850\/10013548964_a319760529.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sam took this photo from the rehearsal on Friday:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uw xO\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/-oLUVdHAM_y8\/UkjoRvuExyI\/AAAAAAAAKuA\/xPFshD3eHb4\/w600-h450-no\/P1050206.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>snapshot from Alan:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"spotlight\" style=\"width: 566px; for each of us, since so much had been made of his adoption of &#8220;the fox.&#8221; \u00a0My animal was, of course, the wise and quiet owl. \u00a0What the other dudes didn&#8217;t know is that we&#8217;d decided on my animal a long time ago. \u00a0Getting the tie clips with our animals sculpted in metal was a surprise for all of us, and we each tried to incorporate them into our outfits the next day, even though we weren&#8217;t wearing traditional ties. \u00a0See if you can spot our clips (pins?) in the photos below from the actual wedding day.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uw xO\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/-DPm7fD-d984\/UkjoR8-6TuI\/AAAAAAAAKt0\/avlYSkEiLr0\/w600-h450-no\/P1050256.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The ceremony itself was perfect for B&amp;C, taking place under layered gray skies by a little light house on the tip of an island north of Seattle. \u00a0After they said their vows and exchanged rings, the gray skies parted and brought down shafts of pale yellow sun onto the water behind them. \u00a0For someone born and raised in Ohio this weather kindled more than a few homesick knots in my stomach. \u00a0Luckily it never more than drizzled on the festivities until it was time to relocate to a barn festooned for the reception. \u00a0Byron and Christine are in Bali right now, and then New Zealand after that, so I won&#8217;t be waiting for them to release the wedding photos to post things up on here, but the photos will be great whenever they do come out.<\/p>\n<p>Breakfast at B&amp;B morning of:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"spotlight\" style=\"width: 761px;
