Looks like both of my non-independant study classes will be…more like independent study than I thought, which is great. I really like working at home as opposed to have to trudge all the way up to the 4th floor of hopkins.<\/p>\n
When I was in marietta town for christmas, Brian reminded me to get mp3s of the Space Twins songs. I was one of the originals who bought the limited edition space twin records when they came out. One of them even had a hand written note from Brian Bell that I still have locked away in a vault somewhere. Today, Brian sent me two of those old songs, which I actually hadn’t heard since I played them on dad’s record player in 1996. They are great…so much better than anything weezer has done in the past five years… So I was terribly disappointed when I discovered that the Twins have just released a full length cd. Why was I disappointed? Because I listened to the three 45 second clips on the website (one would assume they would put the three best songs there)..and they were …bad…boring…lame..hella lame.. It sounds just like another uninteresting weezer album.. I hate it when musicians head towards middle age and all of a sudden want to only write trite pop\/rock crap. Goddess of Love was a really great song and I wondered when the album would come out. Goddess of Love (and all the other songs on those two records) had a unique sound, like the sweater song, except more of a 60’s cheesy space feel, but the chorus would still rock out with that Brian Bell trademark anti-grunge guitar fuzz. Now on this new album all we get is Brian Bell’s lame “oh jesus, Rivers wants ANOTHER weezer album this year?!” pop riffs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
