It wasn\u2019t on our list and so we weren\u2019t sure what it would be. Both of us had the same thought as we stood there with our cameras. Cameras are useless in this place. There is no way a recording (video or static) can convey what it\u2019s like to stand there on a volcanic mountain cliff over a blue glacier lake, and know you\u2019re alone for miles in every direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-flickr wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/qAjW8v\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/7615\/16141017403_305917cc09_z.jpg\" alt=\"_DSC2696\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><figcaption>but you can do Pilates poses<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Our next stop at sunset was the famous <a href=\"http:\/\/icelagoon.is\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">jokalsarlon glacier lagoon<\/a> and the black sand beach with the glaciers that have gone our to sea. A wave came up and surrounded her feet.
