{"id":463,"date":"2008-04-04T20:13:44","date_gmt":"2008-04-05T01:13:44","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2008-04-04T20:13:44","modified_gmt":"2008-04-05T01:13:44","slug":"pearls-of-wisdom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.andrewlorenzlong.com\/?p=463","title":{"rendered":"pearls of wisdom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My father posted a comment to my last blog entry &#8211; and it sounded so compacted full of goodness that I wanted to post it on &#8220;top.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Pearls are made thru constant stress on the oyster.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He was being a great dad and trying to cheer me up during this great time of stress &#8211; but later it occured to me.. &#8220;don&#8217;t they have to kill the oyster to get the pearl?&#8221;   &#8230;but maybe I&#8217;m completely wrong.<\/p>\n<p>I also thought of a few other pieces of wisdom yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps when considering a mate- imagine yourself stranded on a deserted island with them with no hope for rescue.  Will it be an oasis for the both of you  &#8211; or hell?  If you could\/can get along with all the nuances of modern &#8220;society&#8221; out the window then you&#8217;ve got a good thing going.
