The only problem is that this freelance work is retouching high res images – so the remaining few gigabytes are disappearing in a hurry.

So, I started looking for things to clean out today (while watching the OSU game) and I found this:

(title of the text file is “xenomorph timeline” and dates to July 19th 2000)

LV-426. This occurs directly after Ripley explains
what happened to her. since Ripley was in the nostromo’s escape ship for 57 years, we can roughly calculate every
date through-out the aliens films. Hence:

Alien occurs in 2022 -ripley floats in cyro for 57 years

Aliens occurs in 2079 -ripley, hicks, rebecca (newt), and bishop go into cryo. they are only in cryo a short time
before they are sent in escape pods onto the planet Furina 159(?). Its easy to determine that they were in cryo
only a very short amount of time because 1. the face hugger was obviously brought with the queen so it only had a
few days to live (note the amount of time the face hugger in Alien was alive after exiting its egg- only a few days)
2. After the cryo tubes were breached (the only way for the face hugger to get in Ripley -although the dark horse
comic adaptation of the movie script appears to have the face hugger on newt and then when the embryo changes into
a queen it crawls into Ripley’s throat) the ship evacuated the tubes into the escape pod, within an hour the pod
crashed on “Fury” So, from the end credits of Aliens to the beginning credits of Alien 3 could have only been
(in the storyline) a few days or even hours.

Alien 3 occurs in 2079 -Ripley dies with the alien queen. This is where the story would likely end.

Alien Resurrection occurs in 2279 (approx.) -Ripley lands on earth and the ship supposedly holding all the
remaining aliens crashes and explodes. This leaves plenty of room open for a fifth Alien sequel in which the
xenomorph is (finally!!) on Earth. However, this may not happen due to the poor script and dialogue for #4
leaving a less than fantastic reception at the box office. The problem with the idea of cloning Ripley doesn’t
lie in the thought of cloning her- but the alien inside her. It could be entirely possible to clone someone in
the near future from a drop of their blood because it would contain their DNA. The only problem is- unless the
alien embryo injected its DNA thouroughly about Ripleys bloodstream, it would be impossible to recreate the alien
inside her from her blood alone. This hypothesis is highly illogical….but that is the only way I’ve found to
explain how they got the queen from cloning ripley. This WOULD be a reason for the alien queen to possess a few
human qualities and ripley a few xenomorph abilities. So, for now, it looks like thats the explanation we’ll all
have to be content with.

We can also count on the fifth movie (if there is one) being on earth and with no time (no more “you were asleep 57
years” stuff) lapse from the last movie. there was no mention of going into cryo at all at the end of number 4,
just a slow drift above the clouds and a suggestive pan high above an unidentified continent. It wouldn’t be that
hard to make a movie where the aliens have infested the earth with the special effects technology we have now, let
alone the few years it will be before another aliens film is suggested to 20th century fox. Just look at the bug
colony shots in Starship Troopers.

so….until next time

I’m running out of space on my hard drive – and I’ve been getting a little bit of freelance work.
