Yes, I just got a second haircut in four days.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Friday I went to Rio’s Barbershop on the corner of De Soto and Nordhoff.\u00a0 I’ve been going there for maybe a year.\u00a0 Most of the guys in there are good at what they do.\u00a0 They use a real razor to cut the hair on your neck and never ask “what number are you?”\u00a0 For you ladies out there that means “what number on the clipper system<\/a> should I use?”\u00a0 Now, my response (in my head) to this question has always been “I don’t know! You’re supposed to be the expert – if I knew what “number” I used I could buy my own damn clippers and do it myself!”\u00a0 (which I did for a long time)<\/p>\n

The regular guys at Rio’s were backed up.\u00a0 I took a seat in the chair of a short Hispanic woman that I’d never seen before.\u00a0 I tried to explain what I wanted but it became apparent she didn’t speak much English.\u00a0 However, Rio’s has many photos up on the wall of example haircuts and so I said “uhh, Seven, give me a seven.”\u00a0 I didn’t get a seven.\u00a0 It was dark by the time I left and I didn’t get a good look at the butchering till the next day.\u00a0 My head looked like a mushroom with ears, she’d done a horrible “fade” job on the sides and cut nearly nothing on the top.\u00a0<\/p>\n

By noon on Monday I’d taken enough ribbing from my coworkers (yes, I had to work on President’s day) that I stopped in the nearest hair “salon” I could find and asked them to fix it.\u00a0 It is even now… but much shorter.. not sure how I feel about it.\u00a0 I’ll tell you what I don’t feel good about though – paying almost $40 in one week to end up looking like an fresh 18 year old army boy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
