{"id":871,"date":"2009-03-17T06:21:30","date_gmt":"2009-03-17T14:21:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.andrewlorenzlong.com\/?p=871"},"modified":"2009-07-16T07:49:36","modified_gmt":"2009-07-16T15:49:36","slug":"gentle-nudge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.andrewlorenzlong.com\/?p=871","title":{"rendered":"gentle nudge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the way to visit a friend of mine I passed by Pierce College on Winnetka.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"winnetka\" src=\"http:\/\/lh6.ggpht.com\/_ft-qCjvrMks\/Sl7En3Fw-KI\/AAAAAAAAAYg\/sOmy8L5jr-g\/s800\/rearending-013.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"430\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Right about the area where that big truck is traffic stopped suddenly (which isn&#8217;t unusual).\u00a0 I heard &#8220;scrreeeeeach&#8221; and then &#8220;kablam!&#8221;&#8230; I&#8217;d been rearended.\u00a0 I almost made it three years, but LA traffic got to me.\u00a0 Apprently I didn&#8217;t blog about it &#8211; but I was rearended\u00a0on the 118 freeway (100% NOT my fault again) in\u00a0August of 2006.\u00a0 Today it sounded like my whole rear end was gone, but when we pulled over I was pleasantly surprised:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"hit bumper\" src=\"http:\/\/lh4.ggpht.com\/_ft-qCjvrMks\/Sl7EoFZNPNI\/AAAAAAAAAYk\/sCAQIw1xvCI\/s800\/rearending-002.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"365\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It actually looks worse than you can see in the picture (more damage), but it was all superficial. Turns out the big kaboom sound was from the guy that hit the guy that hit me (three-car accident). All their cars were still drivable, so the police dispatcher told me to have everyone exchange information and then report it to our insurance companies.<\/p>\n<p>At this point I&#8217;ll probably just put the money (if I get any) in savings&#8230;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On the way to visit a friend of mine I passed by Pierce College on Winnetka.
