    about a week ago I was chatting with Byron. He said he had a dilemma. As some of you may know, Byron is quite a bit more in tune with fashion and all that than I am. He said he couldn’t justify it anymore and what was cool was turning into a travesty. He said he was worried he was turning into his father in thinking that “all these young kids today are retarded.” I told him he was right and his father was right, and I think all the kids today are morons too. The intelligent members of society are the ones that notice how dumb everyone else is. We then started swapping examples of this by posting links back and forth. We knew one of the best places to find an example would be hotornot since some people use it more as an “am I cool or not?” meter than the intended (attractive or not) purpose. It only took about 15 clicks to find this moron. She is a shining example of everything that is wrong with America’s media outlets today. Thanks to MTV it is now cool for 12 year old girls to lie about their age and listen to rap music (which has only gotten less musical and more violent over the last decade). We went from a #1 rap album being called “the chronic” (marijuana) a decade ago that introduced MELODY into rap music to an album called “The Massacre” that foregoes almost any coherent instrumentation or melody at all and espouses killing your artistic competition. Can one judge a society by its art? It has sure worked in the past, as someone with an art history minor I can tell you that art trends and societal changes are always linked at the hip. Is our society on a downward spiral at the moment? Judging by our major media outlets – yes, without question.

    In short – this was more of a science experiment than anything else, so don’t worry sweetheart – I’m not leaving you for a 12 year old 50 Cent fan 😉
