I was given a free ticket to the IMAX movie “sacred earth” last week. It was basically just a bunch of helicopter shots of the amazon and Africa. I drove for 25 minutes and waited in line for another 30 to see a movie that ended up being only 40 minutes long. I had never been to an IMAX theater before and I’m not that impressed. The screen is a big square, which sounds like a good idea…until you realize that the “widescreen” format was created for a good reason…because that is how our vision works. The screen basically went from the floor to the 6 story high ceiling, which is cool, but they need to have the screen wrap around to the edges of our peripheral view as well for the effect (of being “in” the movie) to really work.
Mom came up yesterday and we went to “El Vaquero.” Best Mexican restaurant (in the northeast) that I know of.
