Over the last week I’ve been diligently working away to downsize my mp3 collection. Over the years I’ve managed to collect multiple files of the same songs, entire albums I don’t really listen to or want (i.e. – where the HELL did I get that horrible hoobastank “the reason” song? I HATE that song!).
I started off with this last weekend with:
66.2GB of mp3s
18,825 mp3s
And after probably 18 hours of editing, searching and collating over two weekends it has come down to:
43.8GB of mp3s
13,182 mp3s
That is a difference of 22.4 GB and 5,643 songs.
To put that in perspective – an iphone won’t even hold the amount of music I DELETED from my collection.
dammit… so that’s how i got Hoobastank…
yeah, probably…
sorry buddy, I owe you..
I hate that song so much! I remember this girl used to change the radio station to the “rock” (really girlypop) radio station in Columbus when I was working at cardsupply… and that song would be on at least twice an hour. So… 8 hour days… 5 days a week… you do the math… and it is a horrible little wimpy whiny song anyway…
The only thing worse was that “she will be loved” bullshit… which they played they also played twice an hour of course.
I still cringe whenever I hear either one…so you can imagine my surprise when I had my winamp on “random” one day and ….
Hey! I stick up for Hoobastank! I like that song. But then again, I also like Maroon 5.
Judging by the size of your collection I’d be willing to bet that some of that was music from, ahem, questionably illegal sources?
That reminds me, I need pirate some new music for my ipod. (he he) The stuff I’ve got on there is beginning to bore me as I jog.
you’d be correct. But keep in mind that Napster was still legal when I started downloading (1st year of college). I don’t really download now. Anything new is just passed on to me through friends.
