I heard an NPR piece, an interview with the album’s producer, about this today as I was driving down the 101 on my way to take my Quant final. I was sure it was an April Fool’s joke that they were playing again…
But… it wasn’t a joke as I’ve now found the official website (linked above). Please download the mp3 towards the bottom of the page and you’ll see why I thought it was a joke. Or you can skip to 0:50 in the youtube clip above. NPR played excerpts from 4 or 5 of the songs and they ALL sounded exactly like that mp3. The interviewer even asked the producer if anyone ever asked them why they all sounded the same… to which he said they just “didn’t know cajun music” or something.
