I think I mentioned this movie review blog before. I always check it out when I need a laugh. His recent Star Trek review wasn’t as bad as others (although still having a vast plethora of spelling and/or grammatical errors), but the last line caught my attention:
“It is going to be the most see movie of the summer.”
Hmmm, a “most-see” movie? Unintentionally brilliant. Actually I don’t know if he just misspelled “must” or “seen.” Maybe we should take bets, although I have a feeling if we’d ask he wouldn’t know the difference.
I think we have a new name for stuff like Transformers or Wolverine. Movies that are not really “films” (i.e. an artistic statement) but products. Instead of being something you “must-see” because the content is intelligent and thought provoking (any Darren Aronofsky film), these movies are “most-see” because they have no redeeming value, but Most of us (myself included) will see them out of curiosity. …a most-see movie!
I have a feeling Star Trek will be neither, but I certainly would expect Abrams’ plot twists and adept art direction to lean over more towards the “must” see than “most.” Perhaps this one is a “maybe-see.”
“You guys are elitists, man… You’re like the unappreciated scholars so you shit on the people who don’t know as much as you.”
“No way…”
“Which is everybody.”
“Yeah…”
“that’s so sad…”
I’m sorry, I liked some of the songs on that soundtrack…but I can’t stand John Cusak…
