new work (old site), NAAFA, Lamborghini’s, California
Spent about 4 hours today finally putting the new art/work images up. There are 9 new pieces in the gallery, and one new piece in the work section, check em’ out! …most of the stuff in the gallery you’ve seen at my show (if you went).
Wow, just when I thought our society couldn’t get any dumber… I find out about NAAFA, the National Association for the Advancement of Fat Acceptance. This is about as dumb as the people that still think smoking isn’t bad for you. I wonder if NAAFA has corporate sponsors ….McDonalds anyone? The weird thing is, I found a BMI calculator online and I’m apparently very close to being obese. According to the index, I would have to lose thirty pounds to be at the very TOP acceptance level for “normal weight.” To be at a regular healthy weight, I would have to lose 45 pounds! Now I don’t think that anybody that knows me would think I need to lose 45 pounds… I don’t think this scale accounts for any muscle mass, which means it is completely useless for any man who is actually working out…which is ironic because that’s how you stay healthy. My 36 waist pants are actually very loose now after I started working out again…does that sound like someone who needs to lose 45 pounds?
I called Nelson Lamborghini…and they said they only have four Lamborghinis on the lot…two diablos and two gallardos…so that’s not worth driving half an hour to see …especially with gas at $1.90 a gallon. Basically I already saw half of their Lambo lot when I went to the auto show last month. Those GTs should be at Ford dealerships in a month or two..can’t wait to see that.
Everything is set for California…except where we are going to live. The plan now is that Chi is joining us as well, which means we can get a 4 bedroom house and save more money. There is a lot of stuff that needs to be worked out in the next 4 months, but I don’t have a whole lot of control over it. The Mix got a good job at UCLA, so for the moment he is too busy looking for a temporary apartment to live in (until the rest of us get out there) to look at houses for us…so that part of the plan is stalling. That complicates things further because I need to switch banks as fifth third doesn’t exist out there…and I don’t want to do that until I have the new address for my checks.
Hopefully I’ll play racquetball today.
