Tuesday leaving Seattle

On Tuesday I hiked to downtown to say goodbye to my friend and gracious host and walk to the light rail station.  I stopped and ate the “large” container of Mac & Cheese at Beechers again (this was my 3rd trip there in 24 hours).

Overall Seattle has excellent food if you know where to go, beats the pants off of LA for being environmentally friendly (recycling containers everywhere), too many smokers, lots of young people – but not as many fake hipsters as LA.  There were lots of homeless, and lots of transients (like those above) who apparently stop in Seattle before continuing northward on their long journey to….nothing.

While in the city I saw the full range of weather, from rain to drizzle to mist to even some sunshine.

My trip back on Virgin America started off uneventful.  I decided to try out their “games” which were abysmal, but when I wanted to go back to watching tv the whole system (just on my tv) froze up with the game screen superimposed over a jumbled tv image.  The stewardess said she could (and would) reset my system, but for the next hour and a half the screen just remained the same.  Obviously Virgin still has some kinks to work out in their system.  It was for the best though, as I decided to draw in my sketchbook for the rest of the flight.

When I landed I was lucky enough to have someone pick me up and drive me home on a Tuesday night.
