On our last trip to Shaw’s cove we brought along some first-timers. It seems every time we do that the waves are high and water rough. Every time we don’t, it’s perfect. That rang true again on Saturday, but we did have friends who lived in the area (and are experienced snorkelers) join us. For the most part the water was calm and clear, a great day to swim out.
Although most of the sting rays were still hiding in calmer waters, almost all of us were able to see some. I saw five.
For the first time at Shaw’s, we saw (we think) a sea lion dodging scuba divers at the bottom of the kelp forest.
