I talked to the history of art department today and found out that I can finish the one class left for my history of art minor over the summer. They are only offering two grad level courses this summer, but I can take either one to complete the minor. I think modern painting and sculpture would be more interesting, but I think I’m going to take the class on ancient egyptian art, because I know the professor. That partially solves the problem with my classes in the summer, at least now I’m half-time instead of part-time. However, I still have to figure out how to graduate in march due to the time conflict of art classes. I will need to fit one more class on next winter quarter, but the time conflicts with the others I’m taking. So, what I’m going to try and do is see if there are any painting and drawing professors staying here over the summer. If somebody is, I’ll ask them if I can do an independent study for 5 credits, thus freeing that part of next winters requirement and adding credits to summer so I’m still full time.
Note (june 2004): The art history department would later deny me the art history minor after I had taken all the classes because it was in the same college as my major
