Back when I used to cruise the internets for a date and go on 3 or 4 dates a week I used to hear women describe themselves as having an “eclectic” taste in music. I often chuckled because upon further review their idea of “eclectic” was listening to Jay-Z and then finishing up with Jason Mraz.
I decided to clean up my room tonight – so I put on that Does it Offend You, Yeah?! album and got to work (remember my post about it being “energizing music?”. After it finished the next song in my winamp playlist (I generally just load EVERYTHING at once) was…. Dolly Parton – Coat of Many Colors.
Now that’s eclectic!
or is it?
By the way – to pic (pick??) like that and sing at the same time takes some talent, I don’t care how big your boobs are.
She uses her fake fingernails! That is too funny. I’ve had fake nails before, it’s kinda painful to use them in that manner, but then again I never tried picking a guitar with fake nails. I just know it hurts like a bitch when they accidently get pulled off
erm . . . I consider myself eclectic in my music tastes. (not sure if I qualify under your definition) I listen to just about everything–jazz, rock, pop, metal, punk, rockabilly, alternative, country, funk, disco, R&B, big band swing, classical and opera. I’m open to new stuff. There’s hardly anything I won’t listen too–emo is one of them. It just gets a little bit too much sometimes. There’s a lot of music out there I haven’t exlpored yet so I don’t close myself off to anything. I think people who claim they only listen to one type of music are boorish snobs.
I don’t actually know what emo is anymore. It used to mean Modest Mouse I think… and now it means whoever has a band member dating Paris Hilton…
Wikipedia claims that My Chemical Romance and Paramore are “emo”. ick.
