Today I received a large shoe-box sized package at work. It was from my mom, and I’d been expecting it as she had warned me ahead of time. Mom always likes to surprise me with these things, the surprise is never that something is coming – just what is inside. Like so many American moms mine never gets tired of sending “care packages” and I never get tired of receiving them. Unlike other moms though, mine also comes with a peculiar sense of humor. Inside the package was a large box of homemade cookies in four different varieties, a nice note on a card and…. a single old sock.
mom, if you’re listening: value of packaging $2.50, value of sock $0.01, value of homemade cookies (priceless).
Where is my portion?
it was actually in the car… but then again, my car wasn’t parked next to yours was it? =P
Now it is packed away safely in my freezer for a better day (although I did sneak a few just now).
Oh darn. I don’t know that you do reply to comments. Now I can’t remember where I’ve commented. I tried to go back and read the ones I remembered but don’t think I get every thing.
It’s a trap for me to come back more often, isn’t it? 😉
Oh, I just saw that there is a box I can check for “Notify me of followup comments via e-mail. I guess I can check that.
yeah, I had to download an app specifically so people could do that.
