You know you’re busy when your mom calls you at work wondering how things are going. I haven’t called my parents since school started. Due to the time difference the only time I can call them ordinarily is on the weekend, but my weekends now are spent studying, writing and meeting with groups (for school).
The next five weeks are going to be the worst. I have a test or a paper (or both) due each week. I’ve got a test (or two) and a paper (or two) back in each of my classes now though, so I suppose I can update anyone who wants to know on how I’m doing.
Surprisingly I’m having a much harder time with the non-math class.
In Quant I got a 100% on the first test and paper. I got a 91% on the next paper, but was informed I could redo part of it to receive a higher grade.. I’ll know if that worked next week.
In Organizational Behavior I got an 85% on my first paper and a 90% (curved!) on my first midterm. From what I hear the average is that one student in the entire class gets an A each term in Organizational Behavior. Apparently I won’t be one of them. The midterm was probably the second hardest test I’ve ever taken (second only to the GMAT) and was basically a memorization test of all the material we’ve covered (which…is a lot!).
So, my goal is to get an A in Quant and a B in OB and I think that will let me keep my 3.5GPA required to keep my scholarship… But the test this coming Tuesday in Quant looks like it is going to be very tough… so…. we’ll see….
Whenever I need to take a break, though, I read this for a laugh. I wish I didn’t have to study so hard this weekend, I’d be out enjoying a complexed movie like Watchmen. “when there is action, there is action” – SOLD!
For more info on the man who is sure to replace Roger Ebert any day now click here.
(and no, he isn’t 22…and some other “facts” stated are up for debate as well)
oh man, tell me about it…. although sometimes i wish my busy-ness ended up with a degree, i guess i need the experience more. its still hard to convince potential employers that they should hire me; my resume is pretty weak, i have to really rely on the portfolio (which still doesnt look all that great compared to other kids in the pool) so ehhh….
Congrats on Quant!! aww i remember OrgBehavior, it was one of my favorite classes (undergrad level, not as advanced… maybe MBA level would kick my ass). That and Creativity in Mgmt, very interesting stuff.
watchmen was definitely worth the time (IMAX if you can)
Sooo… I don’t need to keep it a secret anymore since you actually blogged about it eh?
Yep, I couldn’t sleep and instead of studying or trying to keep my eyes close and forcing myself to sleep, I came to read your blogs.
It’s gonna be a long day tomorrow… wait… today.
