On Saturday I might have been stuck at the dealership for the rest of my life if Sam hadn’t picked me up. She took me to costco (she has a membership) where I ate something for the first time in 7 or 8 hours – costco pizza! For those of you who don’t know, Costco sells amazingly cheap amazingly good cheese pizza (the supreme is hit and miss) and polish sausages/hotdogs. $2 gets you a giant slice of overflowing mozzarella cheese, grease and tomato sauce. $1.50 gets you a drink and a larger-than-The-Stand-Dog hotdog or polish sausage. At some locations the “restaurant” is outdoors so you don’t even have to be a member, just walk up and pay cash.
Anyway – that was just to tide me over until we got home and she cooked Chicken Marsala, making enough to provide lunches for my entire week in case I was stranded at work without a car.
The next day we went to Malibu Creek and discovered there are a great many paths out there. In fact, the trails are so long that it is probably better to use a mountain bike to explore than to try and hoof it. Of course, we don’t have mountain bikes, so we didn’t get to see a great deal more than the traditional rock pool.
