better and better

Yesterday I got my blood test results back. We went down the list and I was perfectly normal in every category… checking off the list… no viral infection at all (I had thought maybe I had mono)…

wait… what is this one… right at the end…the very last one… TSH levels are low. What does that mean?

Apparently it means my thyroid gland is overproducing the hormone T3. A condition called Hyperthyroidism. They are giving me an ultrasound on my neck Tuesday to look for a tumor or enlargement of the thyroid – and then they’ll give me an “iodine test” to test the functioning of my thyroid gland.

I was telling one of my very good friends this news today and he told me that he was let go at his job this morning.

We all must have a really bright future to go through such tough times right now…

  1. related note, found out my girlfriend’s mom has hyperthyroidism and she leads a very normal life with the medication. she’s 50 now and she still can do anything she could before, including very physical activity. so, that’s good i guess
