I was watching election coverage on Foxnews (yes, I thought it would be interesting to watch the coverage from the Death Star) over dinner. They cut to an extended commercial for the upcoming “epic” film Australia. A very mellow instrumental song started playing in the background. As it became obvious that the commercial was a longer spot it also became obvious that the song would not be cut away. I thought “hmmm…that sounds like Explosions in the Sky.” I was right. The first two thirds of the trailer features the Explosions song The Only Moment We Were Alone.

Can we please start a petition to put VH1’s Rock n’ Roll Jeopardy back on the air? I need to make some money!

About the film: It looks decent. Looks like some great on-location shooting and cinematography. I’ve also waited for a few years for someone to give Hugh Jackman a serious film role so he can get the appreciation he SHOULD HAVE got after The Fountain. Those of you who only know him from girly (crap) movies and comic book movies ought to take note that he starred in the Royal National Theatre’s production of Oklahoma among others before moving to film.

Nicole Kidman I couldn’t care less about. Tall, Pale and always looks confused or angry…

UPDATE: Fox just called Ohio for Obama and then quickly took it back when McCain protested. and look who’s here – our old buddy, Karl Rove!! …and even good old Karl is saying things aren’t looking good for his buddy (who he tried to say had an illegitimate black baby 8 years ago) McCain.

  1. All I hear is the Darth Vader theme in my head.

Seriously, Fox is the ONLY channel that is remotely conservative. With all the other major news channels blasting their mindless liberal drivel, do you really think it’s bad to have ONE conservative viewpoint in the media? The liberals have many channels that are liberal biased and they STILL scream about desiring equal say. How more off-balanced can it possibly be?

    Anyway.

This blog was about something else I believe–ummmm, Yes! The upcoming Australia Movie?

    No? Ohio?

I like Hugh Jackman, he’s yummy. I completely agree on Nicole Kidman except for Moulin Rouge. I liked that one.

Karl Rove was like that on Monday too.

Are all conversations with me pretty much like this?

    Yes.
