So Pete Carol is moaning that USC might not get into the big party. Boo hoo for you. DON’T LOSE TO AN UNRANKED TEAM!
Ordinarily I’d agree with the coach, but not this year. After bemoaning OSU getting picked over USC last year (even though they lost to Stanford) I have no sympathy. We lost to a top ten opponent that year – and this year. USC has a bad habit of losing to unranked teams. I suppose they think they should leapfrog Penn State who is unbeaten and thrashed Oregon State (who beat USC)? Which scenario that gets USC into the championship game actually makes sense, Pete? I don’t see one unless everyone above you loses TWICE.
Now, if our new president keeps all his campaign promises maybe you’ll get your wish. That is a change I can hope to believe in!
Did anyone else see the utterly shamefull railroading of Ralph Nader by Fox News last night? Because Dax Sheppard or Agent Smith or whatever the anchor’s name is tried to take over from BrillOReally the crown for “Attack journalism” the actual quote from Nader is easily lost. Here is the original “racist” quote:
To put it very simply, he is our first African American president; or he will be. And we wish him well. But his choice, basically, is whether he’s going to be Uncle Sam for the people of this country, or Uncle Tom for the giant corporations.
Also – I’m guessing Jesse Jackson would have cried either way last night. Either he’d have had a new charge for racism… or (as ended up happening) he loses his job… Going to be hard to insist “white america” is so racist now isn’t it?
An old phrase from my Asia days comes to mind: Don’t get on the tiger unless you have a plan to dismount. Methinks the big zero is going to have a very bumpy ride.
