Byron came to visit Thursday. We first proceeded to Ventura Boulevard. His first choice was Burbank City Center, but I assured him that we should try Ventura as he had never been before. We ended up at Amazon with the same waiter that Amy and I had months before. Byron had a jack n’ coke and an order of Nachos appetizer. The nachos came and it was enough for a whole family. It was literally a trough style plate about 18 inches long and with nachos piled a good four inches high. Byron ate about a third of it (in 45 minutes mind you) before giving up. I had already eaten dinner earlier (we were at Amazon around 8) and just had a piece of chocolate cake. When we asked for the check, Jaime, our waiter gave us each a free shot glass of amoretto. So if you are ever on Ventura check out Amazon, that place gets better every time I go there. (the entrĂ©es are great too)
After that we proceeded to a recommendation of Aaron’s called the
(Something) Pig. It was off of Hollywood and Vine. It reminded me of a more well thought out version of the coffee shop that was constantly changing ownership during high school and had high attendance until a new owner decided to give it a Jesus slant and scared all the most loyal customers away. After chilling there for a little while we went to the Bar next door called “Bird.” On the way back to North Hollywood we explored a winding skinny road up in the Hollywood hills filled with very modern million+ dollar homes.
